A proposal card gets recycled. This one has the question burned into the lid, and he keeps the box.
- His name and your wedding date on the lid, so the box gives nothing away before he opens it
- The ask engraved inside the lid, permanently, in whichever role you are asking him to take
- Two lines of your own underneath it, in script
- Spanish cedar lined, 9 inches by 8.5 inches, with internal locking hinges
- Cherry, black or burl
You hand it to him with his name on the front and no explanation. He lifts the lid and finds the question waiting for him in the wood, with whatever you wanted to say underneath it. Nothing to unfold, nothing to read out loud, and nobody has to watch him decide what face to make.
Then it stops being a proposal and becomes a box. It holds the cufflinks, the boutonniere he kept, the ring box, the watch he wore that day. Ten years from now the question is still in the lid every time he opens it, and so is your name for asking.
How to Personalize
- Enter his name for the lid. It engraves in block capitals inside the frame.
- Enter your wedding date. It engraves under the bowtie exactly as you type it, so 10/10/2026.
- Pick the role you are asking him to take. The question inside the lid reads WILL YOU BE MY, then that role.
- Write your message. It engraves in script under the question, up to 100 characters.

Does the outside give the surprise away?
No. The lid carries his name and your wedding date and nothing that gives it away, so he has no idea what he is holding. The question is engraved inside, where he reads it when he lifts the lid.
Can I use this to ask someone other than a groomsman?
Yes. The question follows the role you pick, so it can read best man, usher, officiant, ring bearer, junior groomsman, best woman or man of honor. If none of those fit, type your own and we engrave that instead.
What does he do with it after he says yes?
It is a full size keepsake box lined with Spanish cedar, the same lining a humidor uses. Most of them end up holding the cufflinks, the boutonniere he kept and the ring box from the day, with the question still in the lid.

Got these for my brother’s bachelor party for all the guys. They are very well made. My only thing I would say is that they are thick for golf ball markers. I would consider cutting them down about half the height of what they are. We are all big golfers and they would interfere on the greens if you use them. Just my honest opinion. But they came out great and shipping was quick! Thank you for making them!
